Mike Tomlin’s 12-year Minecraft city goes viral after first YouTube tour

Former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has spent 12 years building the same city in Minecraft, a long-running personal project that only recently became public. On Sept. 30, he released the first video on his YouTube channel, walking viewers through a boutique hotel, luxury apartments and a CVS inside the world he built over more than a decade. According to Kotaku, the debut video had reached 1.5 million views by the time of writing, while Tomlin’s X post promoting the release drew 25,172,115 views and 163,548 likes. In the video, Tomlin said he got into Minecraft after watching his children play and became attached to the game’s creative mode, even though he did not see himself as someone with the controller skills for competitive games. He said his son later convinced him to share the project publicly. The response quickly spread beyond viewers, with official NFL and Minecraft accounts both leaving comments under the video.
